An update about how you can help with caring for the children who are now motherless (again) without Haregewoin. She had more than 50 children in her care; 42 of which are HIV+. GO HERE for information on how you can help.
A midwestern army wife, mom, sometimes quilter, and scientist. I work full-time at a university (don't be surprised if you read the words "bucket of brains" or "fruit fly sexing" on the blog). I'm an adoptive mom who is learning new things about parenting every day and I'm trying to be the best mom I can be. When possible, I cram in as much quilting as I can.
"The one thing, on which we can all agree, is that God is with the vulnerable and poor. God is in the slums and in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them. 6,500 Africans are still dying every day of a preventable, treatable disease, for lack of drugs we can buy at any drug store. This is not about charity, this is about Justice and Equality." --Bono
